Fixing Botched Brows

This is truly a heart breaking story. Josephine had her brows microbladed by an experienced artist in the Bay Area who did well on her first initial session but on the 2nd session, she went too deep, made the shape different, and did not go over the same lines. The depth was so extreme that it left her with scars that healed folded in. She was so devastated by the unevenness of her brows that she shaved off all her hair hoping that it will help—but to no avail. For over 2 years, she had been approaching other experienced brow tattoo artists in the Bay Area but many turned her away. Why? It is very hard to work on deep scar tissues. The risk is very high for artists to work with botched brows like hers, and on top of that, many of us fear it will worsen the scars. I was very close to turning her away also, but when I heard her story, and her supportive boyfriend was there letting me know how she is still so beautiful and that her brows are fine to him...I wanted to truly make her feel beautiful. We analyzed her brow tissues and set realistic expectations. I informed her that this will be a long process like 3-5 sessions because we are working with very delicate skin. I would have to stop shading once I feel the skin is too tender. My goal was to not cause more trauma but work with the existing trauma. We drew her a new shape, did removals of anything outside of that shape, and release ink from some of the dark strokes. When she came back for her 2nd session, and instead of doing removals for the parts that were out of her shape, we opted for camouflage because it became light enough. This is her healed results after 2 sessions! Looking at the amazing results, we have just one more minor session to complete her brows! I can’t wait to see her already! My heart is so full knowing that you are so happy with our process Josephine! 🥰
